DTWO on the Wind Europe Science Conference 2025 stage
Thu 19 Jun 2025DTU, VKI and DHI will be present for DTWO at the Wind Energy Science Conference (WESC) 2025, which will take place in Nantes, France, from June 24 to 27. Three abstracts – one from each partner – will be presented, jointly giving a comprehensive overview of the project and creating an opportunity for fruitful knowledge-sharing.
The Wind Energy Science Conference (WESC) 2025 is one of Europe’s leading research events dedicated to wind energy. Organized by Centrale Nantes and supported by the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE), the conference reaches its 5th edition. Made up of oral presentations and parallel sessions, WESC offers a unique platform for researchers and industry experts to update one another on all scientific topics concerning wind energy. The event features thematic mini-symposia, technical site visits, and multiple networking opportunities.
Three DTWO’s partner will bring some contribution to the conference:
- The Digital Twins for Winds-Offshore (DTWO) Project that will be presented by Xiaoli Guo Larsén, from DTU, on Friday, 26th June, from 10:50;
- Generation of combined meso and microscale turbulence field for tropical cyclone conditions that will be presented by Sara Müller, from DTU, on Friday, 26th June, from 10:50;
- The impact of operating wind farms in the wave field: a case study, that will be presented by Jianting Du, from DHI, on Friday, 27th June, from 10:50;
- Modeling large-scale wake effects using FLORIS: application to the Belgian Eastern Zone, a project not exactly in the strict scope of DTWO but closely related. that will be presented by Maxime Lejeune, from VKI, on Thursday, 26th June, from 14:00.
WESC is set to be opportunity that confirms DTWO’s central role in the future of offshore wind energy. To discover more about WESC, visit the event website.

DTWO at WindEurope Technology Workshop 2025
DHI will take part in the WindEurope Technology Workshop 2025 in Istanbul, Turkey (19–20 June), showcasing work from the DTWO project. As part of the event, Metocean engineer Ioannis Koumaniotis will present a poster part of the DTWO project on hybrid modelling of sea state conditions. The poster highlights the combination of two methods to simulate waves and water movements, using case studies from two Ørsted offshore wind farms.
