Global Wind Day social campaign: the faces behind the wind of change
Tue 10 Jun 2025DTWO, WinDTwin, TWINVEST, Meridional, TAILWIND and SUDOCO will participate to the Global Wind Day Campaign of 15th June, sharing posts on social media about people working within the projects.
In poetry, literature, and more generally speaking in metaphorical contexts, wind has always been portrayed as a vector of change: the winds of change is in fact a highly meaningful expression that, not only in English but in many languages, conveys an idea of innovation, progress, and revolution.
Global Wind Day, which has been held on June 15th for the past 18 years, is a moment for taking stock, raising awareness and celebrating a great innovation brought by the wind: wind power, a key energy vector for the green energy transition.
- DTWO aims to develop a digital twin for offshore wind farms that will help in forecasting wind power production.
- WinDTwin, similarly, aims to develop an offshore wind farm digital twin (DT) for accurate predictions of power production and energy demand.
- TWINVEST aims to develop a Digital Twin for onshore wind farms, to provide investors with insights into both current performance and future investment potential.
- Meridional aims to produce a knowledge and data hub, as well as a toolchain, to improve wind farm design, performance assessment, and loading.
- Tailwind aims to improve mooring and anchoring technologies for floating offshore wind farms.
- SUDOCO aims to unify diverse kinds of data to optimally design future offshore wind farms, balancing maximum energy output with structural stress mitigation.
For each project, cards will be published on their respective social media channels, giving a face, a name, and a mission to the people behind these initiatives; each of whom, in their own way, is helping to drive the winds of change.
