DTWO at the EGU General Assembly 2025: wrap-up of new connections
Mon 05 May 2025Between the end of April and the beginning of May, the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly took place in Vienna, offering a bridge-building opportunity for scholars from various disciplines and countries. DTWO contributed to the conference with an abstract presented by the coordinator, Xiaoli, making full use of this occasion.
From 27 April to 2 May 2025, the EGU General Assembly brought together more than 19,000 participants from all over the world in Vienna, Austria.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity to explore a wide range of topics related to geosciences, including environment, natural resources, and energy. Particular attention was given to the challenges and developments in the renewable energy sector. In this context, DTWO contributed to the EGU 2025 program within the session “Energy, Resources and the Environment”, under the Renewable Energy theme, in the sub-session “Energy Meteorology”. There, project coordinator Xiaoli Guo Larsén served as convener.
DTWO contributed to the discussion with its multidisciplinary contents, bridging the fields of meteorology and energy, and integrating digitalization approaches” said Guo Larsén, who also reported the enthusiastic engagement of researchers from various disciplines. Many scholars recognized elements of their own work reflected in DTWO’s components, opening up the possibility for future connections between their research and the broader offshore wind sector. The poster session lasted over two hours, during which Xiaoli was fully engaged in continuous conversations with attendees.
